Summit Public Schools students have the opportunity to enroll in two Expeditions classes per year. These immersive elective classes meet four times a year for two-week cycles. The journalism class is offered at six sites: Summit Tahoma, Summit Rainier, Summit Prep, Everest, Summit Shasta and Summit Denali. Journalism and Advanced Journalism students at Summit Preparatory Charter High School completed their 2017-18 Expeditions school year on April 27, and the staff editors are preparing to launch a new student-led publication for next school year.

The Summit Tahoma journalism students interviewed State Senate candidate Palmer Kain and State Assemblymember Mark Stone on Sept. 9.


The Summit Rainier journalism students interviewed State Senate candidate Palmer Kain on Sept. 22.


The Summit Prep journalism students interviewed State Senator Jerry Hill on Sept. 27.


The Everest journalism students interviewed State Assembly candidate Marc Berman on Oct. 20. Mr. Berman is now the official representative for the 24th Assembly District.
