Human Sexuality teaches about protection and prevention of pregnancy

By Juan Cerda, Marvin Garcia and Claudia Mendoza

Staff Writers

The Human Sexuality course is based in part on students being taught about protection and how to prevent unwanted pregnancy. They are also told about resources they could use in case of pregnancy and options they could take.

For Celebration of Learning, students made posters about issues related to the human body. For example, one student wrote about a woman who sought surgery due to insecurity about her appearance.

Students also learn about sexually transmitted diseases. “They taught me that there are specific things that are done that can cause AIDS or any other type of disease,” one student explained. In addition to discussing issues related to human anatomy and reproduction, students also learn more about how to foster healthy relationships.
